WHY

Tritanium - The main building block in space structures. A very hard, yet bendable metal. Cannot be used in human habitats due to its instability at atmospheric temperatures. Very common throughout the world.
Alright so perhaps not even an Oxygen atmosphere, just atmosphere in general. Common knowledge for anyone that plays EVE, also CCPs excuse for ignoring pleas for Atmospheric Flight.

That's OK, Tachyon Beam II and 425mm II Rails can both operate from far outside the atmosphere. yay for 40cm cannisters of antimatter!
Atmosphere 'height' generally dictated at 100km. Optimal range of 425mm II Rails, 57km. Tachyon Beam II optimal range, 52km.
You're gonna be firing wildly thats for sure.
Two things though. OP pictures Abaddon in atmopshere, also an abaddon way to close to actually make a hit on its target if EVE weaponary is concerned, a Tachyon II will usually miss its target at point blank range.
Fail.
You would see something more like this if an Abaddon was to launch an attack on Azeroth anyway.

Oh snap, you know that in the QR trailer there was 2 seconds of planetary combat footage, with a ship shooting at the planet's surface right?
2 seconds? Jesus H christ man, CALL HOME. TELL EM. Atmospheric flight is almost here!
Also we'll be flying our EVE ships first person with ****pits and radios and R2 D2 in the back.
To hell with EVE backstory and game mechanics!

Come now, 200Km with tachy and 425mms ain't difficult.
Aye, alas - point blank damage is not. Abaddon is way too close to actually hit its target.
Not to mention its firing 15 beams all at once.

It does have 16 turrets
But yeah, this is totally biased on EVEs favour. We're not calculating teleporting to ships, resistances etc.
Also WoW has the scourge who have flying fortresses of all things
Yeaaah but only 8 can ever fire at once. And if they're Tachyon IIs, the abaddon doesn't have enough juice for that! (Maybe with skills? Never flown Amarr)
God, this is like Star Wars vs Star Trek but... in the MMO world.

Maybe that's just in space?
But yeah, abaddon does have juice to fire 16 tachyons. Also, at that range and size(relative to orc), i believe those are civilian lasers
Noob fit abaddon?!
I wonder if it has a hull repairer on it.

So... What you're saying is Cruise Missiles should be a better choice? The blast radius of one of those babies would probably wipe Azeroth off the map... |

Aye, missiles would work better for bombardment.
Actually bombers would work best for bombardment
Still would be a b*tch with all them invulnerabilities and such.
Imagine fear on a battleship
How would neuts work? Drain Mana?
Mana = Cap?
OH GOD THE SIMILARITIES. |

But no worry if they can't cover everything, then you'd just need to move a little bit.
Found it.
We'll just portal to Outland. S'cool.
